RHS Celebrates American Education Week

"Making Public Schools Great for Every Child!"

In honor of American Education Week, we will feature different academic areas each day this week. Today we would like to focus on the Fine Arts (Music, Band, Art, and Theater/Speech) classes and the Foreign Language department.


Fine Arts Department

Music

Mr. Danny Chartrand is the RHS Choir Director and teaches 3 choral classes.

These students recently won honors in the Midstate music competition.

Band

Mr. Tom Tapscott is the RHS Band Director and teaches classes in Marching, Concert and Symphonic Band, as well as Music Appreciation.

Art

Mrs. Mary Covington Bryant is the RHS Art teacher and teaches Art classes to 5 levels of students, including AP Art. She is also the tennis coach.

Speech/Theater

Mrs. Lee Ellen Beach is the RHS Speech/Theater teacher, incorporating RHS TalonVision (the school's television programming) into the curriculum. She teaches theater, speech, and tv production classes, as well as coaching the various forensics teams.


Foreign Language Department

Spanish

Mrs. Christy Houston teaches Spanish classes at RHS and also serves as the Volleyball coach.

Mrs. Nicole Gillon teaches Spanish I and II classes and sponsors the Spanish club.

French

Mrs. Judy Provo teaches several French and Spanish classes at RHS and sponsors the French Club.

Latin

Dr. Kaye Warren teaches all levels of Latin at RHS and is the sponsor of the award-winning Junior Classical League.
