Roxy Brings Show to RHS

The Roxy Regional Theatre brought their version of the Scopes monkey trial to Rossview High School, playing in front of over 500 students. Following is an excerpt from their website, describing the main players:

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Dr. Lew Tatham returns to the Roxy stage. Dr. Tatham has been seen in numerous Roxy productions including: Hamlet, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, The Elephant Man, Our Town and numerous others. He will be joined by Cumberland County Playhouse veteran George King. This will be Dr. King's 3rd appearance in Inherit the Wind. He has also appeared in productions of Look Homeward Angel as well as a recent production of Harvey. Leslie Greene, currently seen as Louise in Always...Patsy Cline will play Mrs. Brady. Leslie has been a member of the Roxy's professional company since inception, 10 years ago. Kim Boler will be joining the company for the year. Kim is from West Virginia and has been seen in productions of Ethan Frome, Ten Plays by Durang, Betrayal and others. Mike Schraeder,currently from New York, spent 3 seasons with Hilberry Repertory Theatre as well as working with Theatre Studio, Inc. in NY. Roxy favorite Jay Doolittle will return this fall after "playing" in Maine for the summer. Leon Contavesprie will be on hand for the year. Currently living in Mississippi, Leon has worked with North Star Summer Theatre, Le Petit Theatre, Rivertown Rep. and others. Ify Amobi, from Augusta Georgia, will play numerous roles this year. Ify has her BA from Cornell as well as completing programs with BADA and RADA. She has worked extensively with Virginia Shakespeare as well as Georgia Shakespeare. Sean Ramey will return for the fall. Sean recently played the title role in Oklahoma Shakespeare's Hamlet. bj Kelly, who most recently appeared in RRT's Footloose will join the company for the fall.

The show will continue at the downtown location through October 25, for those who missed this performance.
