RHS Math Teams excel at competition

On Tuesday, April 22, 2003, several math whizzes from RHS competed at the TMTA (Tennessee Math Teacher Association) annual competition at Austin Peay State University. The team is sponsored by Mrs. Anita Kirby.

In Algebra 2, Michael Bergen placed 3rd individually and the team of Michael Bergen, Mollie Ellis, Steven Czak (pictured below) and Candice Kimbrough placed 4th.

In Geometry, Adam Lander placed 1st and the team of Adam Lander, Josh Melton, Jonathan Smith and Charrelle Coates placed 1st.

In Precalculus, Greyson Daugherty placed 1st and Bethany Cartwright placed 2nd individually, while the team of Greyson Daugherty, Bethany Cartwright, Tara Daniel and Amanda Jenkins placed 1st.

In Calculus, Laura Sikes took 2nd place and Daniel Taylor placed 3rd individually, while the team of Laura Sikes, Daniel Taylor, David Liberatore and JW Knapek placed 2nd.

Other students participating in the competition included Riann Offutt, Julie Baer, and Haley Hall.
