Sierpinski's Triangle (or gasket), was named after the Polish mathematician Waclaw Sierpinski who described some of its interesting properties in 1916. Among these is its fractal or self-similar character. Without a doubt, Sierpinski's Triangle is at the same time one of the most interesting and one of the simplest fractal shapes in existence. Because one of the neatest things about Sierpinski's triangle is how many different and easy ways there are to generate it, we completed Algebra II Standard 1 sample task, students design and build a simple fractal from available materials, to start our study together.
