Mrs. Belvin's class is studying the Nervous System and how it functions. They started with the brain and continued down the skeleton to the spinal canal. The students had to make the brain in detail, recognize the function it performs and then place it correctly within the skeleton. From there, they used the clay to make the spinal canal, vertebral bodies and spinal processes. They had to feed the clay to the brachial plexus and brachial artery. Then they had to feed the clay from the brachial artery to the carpal tunnel and out to the hand. The students thought it was very interesting to trace the nerve. Mrs. Belvin finished the less by showing them actual MRI images, axial view, of what they had completed.
