Mrs. Belvin's class participated in a Urinalysis Lab to determing the five key factors of urine; color, odor, transparency, sugar and protein. The students were split into groups and had to decide if there was a possibility that one or more of the samples were from a diabetic sample, protein sample, food coloring sample or water. They had to determine if one or more of the samples were hydrated or dehydrated and which of the samples had kidney damage. Along with this project the students had to research kidney transplants and tissue typing.
