Catelynn Ellis
Catelynn applied for a scholarship through the AFS Inter-cultural Programs USA and was selected as one of the the top 5 out of 500 students across the nation who could potentially receive a scholarship for a 2 week foreign exchange experience abroad. Catelynn's idea was "Everyone should receive an education and three meals a day. Catelynn's project would collect donated books and food and hold regular gatherings for people to eat and read together."
Catelyn will be going to Russia this summer on a two-week AFS Global Prep program along with 4 other students. The group will be investigating and capturing the indigenous cultures of Russia through first-person interviews, enabling their stories to be known by the global community through a website of Sam Harshbarger's, first place winner and Project Leader.
