Football fever was in the air on Friday, as students revved up
for the first home football game of the season. A pep rally was held
on our new "C" schedule (end of the day): several spring teams
(baseball, softball, dance team and cheerleaders) presented trophies
from district and regional wins to add to the ever-increasing trophy
cases! Several fall teams were introduced: volleyball, cross-country,
and football teams lined the floor. The dance team performed a
Michael Jackson favorite, and the RHS cheerleaders led the school in
a deafening spirit check! At 6:00, a tail-gate party was held
pre-game, and the band prepared to march its first home performance
of "The Wiz". Good thing the Wicked Witch wasn't here, or she
would've melted: the first 30 minutes of pregame show and first
quarter were met with a steady rain, which finally abated for the
half-time show! The rain seems to bring good luck to the Hawks,
however: they dominated the evening with a win, 18-12! Way to show,
Hawks! Following are photo highlights of the afternoon pep rally and
evening game:
