Rossview JROTC Cadets Carol Rose, Ryan Grimes, John McCullom and
Joe Vallely, with approximately thirty other high school students
from Ohio and Kentucky, attended a Youth Leadership Conference
sponsored by the Military Order of World Wars this past weekend at
the Wendell Ford Regional Training Center in Greenville, KY. The
cadets participated in Learning Workshops presented primarily by CMDR
Jeff "Scuz" Daus and LTC Scott Quinlan, both employees of United
Parcel Service (UPS) Air Cargo Division. (Other presenters included:
MG Carl Black - "History of the Flag"; BG Leon Johnson - "Free
Enterprise"; LTC David Thorsen - "Leadership"; and CPT Bill Dibble -
"Declaration of Independence" and "The US Constitution and Bill of
Rights".) The "Scuz Puppies", as they aptly named themselves,
participated in learning activities centered around those subjects
and others as they developed relationships with the various students
in attendance. In addition to workshops, the cadets participated in
Leadership Reaction Activities which focuses on the utilization of
teamwork and critical thinking skills in overcoming the various
physical obstacles they were presented while negotiating the
Leadership Reaction Course. Following are photos from the
