Spanish students from all over the Clarksville region were
treated to a performance of the popular play, The Barber of Seville
(written by Caron de Beaumarchais and first performed in 1778). The
theater troupe, National Theater of the Performing Arts, Ltd., is "an
educational organization dedicated to supplementing the basic
classroom curriculum by making available drama, music and dance
programs of the highest professional quality." Figaro, the notorious
barber of Seville, plots "to help the beautiful Rosina escape from
the unpleasant marriage plans made by her evil guardian, the
villainous Dr. Bartholo."* This special version of the play is a
Spanish/English bilingual adaptation that reinforces students' study
