An award-winning performance was presented to various English
classes today by a group of outstanding African-American Forensics
Team members. Rasheda Abdullah, Shelby Coates, Charrelle Coates and
Jasmine Davis wrote an original essay celebrating the culture and
contributions of African-Americans for the last 300 years. In a
medley containing quotations and poems, interlaced with narrative
from many famous writers (such as Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou,
Nikki Giovanni and others), each performer evoked the pride and pain
of the African-American experience. This team will present their
Interpretive Theater performance at the State THSDDL tournament being
held at RHS this Friday and Saturday (open to the public).
