Ted Young - Head Coach

Not only a Clarksville native, Ted Young is also an internationally accomplished, professional basketball player and coach. He first achieved notable success in being named a High School All-American Player during his time as a student athlete at Clarksville High School, where his jersey remains officially retired. After a four-year starting career with the Vanderbilt University Commodores, Ted toured throughout Asia and the Pacific as both a professional player and coach.

Mike Head - Assistant

Mike Head is in his 24th year as an assistant coach with Ted Young at CHS. He serves as JV coach and specializes in post player development, film/video highlights, & opponent scouting. Mike was a 1st team All-State basketball player at Jo Byrns High School. He was a 2 year starter at Austin Peay, where he played from 1996-2000. He helped the Govs to 2 OVC championships and an appearance in the 1996 NCAA tournament. He played alongside two future NBA players while at Austin Peay: Bubba Wells and CHS great Trenton Hassell. While in college, he also was a summer basketball camp instructor at Austin Peay, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee Tech. Mike played internationally in Istanbul, Turkey and in China during his summers at APSU. He is physical education teacher at Barksdale Elementary.

Jay Bailey - Assistant

Jay Bailey graduated from Clarksville High School in 1998 having lettered in football, basketball, and track. During his high school career he was awarded many all-area and all-regional honors. After high school, Jay went on to play one season of junior college basketball at Volunteer State, after which Jay returned home to Clarksville and Austin Peay State University to play football from 2000 to 2002. He was inducted into the Austin Peay State University Hall of Fame in 2011. Jay joined the Clarksville high basketball coaching staff in 2008, where he specializes in guard play and development. Jay is also a CHS assistant football coach, where he serves as the strength and conditioning coach & running backs coach. When not at CHS, he is the Wellness Director at the Clarksville Area YMCA as well as a Personal Trainer.
